Peshawar, 22 July, 2010 :
The incessant spree of monsoon rains is continued in most party of country including Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces while the flood is heading to hit Peshawar.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has proclaimed an emergency cell in its office amid fears of flood and providing relief information to the masses. Mr. Asif Ali Farakh, Director Relief & Operation is personally monitoring the whole flood situations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In this regards PDMA has already provided an amount of 1 million rupees to concerned District Coordination Officers.
In recent flood in District Peshawar, 50 houses have been damaged, PDMA has provided 20 large family tents to Rescue 1122 for quick response during emergency and 50 tents to the affectees of Landi Bala and Sango, Peshawar. Furthermore PDMA has also arranged full food items to 50 families of the said affected areas.
Mr. Asif further said that during emergency and relief activities, PDMA Help Line may be contacted on phone number 091-9212021. Hydrology Irrigation Division Peshawar is monitoring flood flow in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s rivers and information regarding flood updates, Flood Cell Peshawar is active on Phone No: 091-9211907. Moreover in each District Coordination Offices, Control Rooms have been established to monitor the flood and disaster in affected regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
