Progress of Schools (US$ 50 M)

Overall target of 121 Schools have been set for reconstruction with USAID financial support. Till September 30, 2016, 109 Schools have been completed and 103 provided with furniture while remaining schools are in various stages of reconstruction and approval process.
Another 62 Flood / Militancy damaged schools have been approved by the competent forums in 08 districts. Supervisory consultant has been mobilized. Work orders for 36 schools have been issued while the remaining are in the process of evaluation. Moreover assessment of remaining schools against the balance amount is in process. PC-I of GHSS Akbarpura Nowshera has been approved and pre-qualification of contractor is in progress.

Malakand Health Services Plan (MHSP)

  • Bridge Financing for the revolving fund  has been approved by the Government.
  • The timeline of Health Services Plan will be curtailed from three years to two years.
  • The same activities will take place with the obligated USAID financial assistance.         
  • Presently the PIL is under revision with USAID.

Tehsil Complex Kabal US$ 2.5 M)

  • USAID has committed an amount of US$ 2.5 Million for construction of Tehsil Complex Kabal.
  • Land provided by the District Administration.
  • PC-I approved, AA issued at a total cost of Rs.255.011Million. However, Raft footing/foundation design of Package-I & II has been completed and layout is in process.
  • Contractors and supervisory consultants have been mobilized for reconstruction of Tehsil Level Complex Kabal Swat.  

Restoration of flood damaged Infrastructure (US$ 20.039 Million)

  • Restoration of Munda Headworks (US$ 8.495 M) is completed.
  • Restoration of Amandara Headworks (US$ 6.564) is completed.
  • Reconstruction of Khwazakhela Bridge and Mingora Bridge are completed and opened for general traffic - (US$ 4.980 M).

Housing Uniform Assistance Subsidy Project US$ 65 Million

  • USAID funded Uniform Housing Assistance Subsidy Project (US$ 65 M).
  • Subsidy for Fully damaged house Rs. 400,000/-.
  • Subsidy for Partially damaged house Rs. 160,000/-.
  • Rs.2265.04 millions disbursed in Malakand Division till date.

Background of PM / CM Package:

PaRRSA paid Rs. 1.522 billion for Housing Subsidy for Malakand Division out of Rs. 2 Billion grant provided by the Federal Government. Later on the USAID committed US$ 65 Million (PKR 5.5 Billion) for the Malakand Housing Subsidy out of which US$ 24 Million (Rs. 2.040 Billion) has been released to the Provincial Government/PaRRSA by the USAID.

The available amount of Rs. 1.522 Billion, recouped from the USAID funding was approved by the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 13.8.2011 to be spent on rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in Malakand Division.
